Cheers to the New Year!

January 1, 2017

Happy New Year Everyone! Let’s make this one the best year ever!

The New Year is often a time for reflection for most people….on what was, what could have been, and what will be.  2016 has been a roller coaster year for me. There were certainly ups and downs. I know a lot of you have had the same kind of year and are hoping that 2017 will be better. 2016 brought the loss of a loved one for me. While he was so dear to me and I am still filled with grief over the loss; he also gave me and still gives me reasons to pursue what my heart desires.  He left me with words of encouragement to keep going and to never stop.

On the other hand 2016 has been a blessing. I married the love of my life! I still can’t believe sometimes I married a person who supports me with what I wanted to do, but lacked the courage to take the first step.   As many of you know he is also my photographer, who patiently takes his time to get the best shots of me (and sometimes that can be a bit tricky….like if I get hungry or cold during a shoot, Haha!). I love that we can do things together and can discuss our goals and dreams.

About six months ago I started blogging and I never thought that this hobby could turn into something I could be passionate about. I feel all the support and love from all of you guys and I thank you.

We are determined to make 2017 the best year. My husband and I spent some time recently listing things we will achieve this year and I hope we can share it with all of you through our blogging. We will strive to increase and improve our content, to stay more connected and to always share love and inspiration.  I’d love to hear about some of your goals for 2017.

Stay tuned for more of our travels, fun, fashion and inspiration.

I definitely think when you lose someone, it can be so powerful to turn your grief into something productive. It's almost as if you are honoring that person when you keep moving forward and live a fulfilling life. Way to go on turning something hard into something motivating!

Happy New Year Emmi! Thank you so much! We do have a lot of fun taking these photos! My husband keeps teasing me that he's going to do an out take post with some less flattering, fun/candid ones :)

I love those sunglasses, I wish I could pull those off as much as you can!

Reply to Jen

Hi Jen! Thank you! Yeah these are one of my favorites... I wear them all the time :)

I love that scarf! My tendency is to pair something with black in it to black (just seems easiest to me) but I love that the base for your outfit is tan - refreshing! Happy New Year!

My goal is to inspire others to believe in themselves, to be comfortable with what and who they are, express their own uniqueness, and to motivate people to go out and do things outside of their comfort zone. I would love to connect with you!
