The 3rd day of our trip to the Philippines ironically started at 3:00 AM. Yes, I know…believe me I was wishing that was a typo when my alarm went off that morning. But, we had to wake up that early to arrive at Kiltepan Peak before the sunrise! This is a popular tourist destination in Sagada and famous for breathtaking sunrises.
I cannot possibly say enough about this place as it is difficult for pictures and even video to do it justice! Couple quick tips for those of you interested in visiting Kiltepan Peak:
Next, we were off to have a real breakfast in downtown Sagada at the Masferré Country Inn and Restaurant. It’s a cozy cafeteria style restaurant serving traditional Filipino food. For only 150 pesos (~$3 USD) you get a choice of breakfast meat with rice, eggs, coffee, and a piece of fruit.
After breakfast, we made our way to the Hanging Coffins of Sagada and Echo Valley. The Igorot tradition of burying their loved ones this way dates back more than 2,000 years. One of the reasons for hanging the coffins along the wall was to place the deceased closer to heaven. If you’re interested in learning more about this tradition check out this site.
Coming up in my day 4 video, we ditch the mountains of Sagada and head for the beautiful beaches of El Nido, Palawan so stay tuned!

My goal is to inspire others to believe in themselves, to be comfortable with what and who they are, express their own uniqueness, and to motivate people to go out and do things outside of their comfort zone. I would love to connect with you!Read More
