Most of you know by now that my husband and I recently moved to downtown Milwaukee. There were a lot of reasons for it, but it worked out well for my husband to be in a bigger city to grow his photography business and I found a great job at a local hospital here with an interesting schedule. I work 7 days on and 7 days off so we’ve been taking advantage of the off weeks to explore and learn our way around city!
This week has been one of my off weeks and we decided now that some of the Black Friday craziness has subsided that we needed to get in gear and get the rest of our Christmas shopping done!
The timing was perfect as we were recently asked by The Bon-Ton Store to feature a couple of our favorite GUESS dresses and GUESS Winter Coat. So, we headed to the Mayfair Mall here in Wauwatosa and started our holiday shopping at The Boston Store. I was really wanting a colorful winter coat as I easily get tired of the normal neutral styles…so I was thrilled when we found this beautiful blush pink wool coat by GUESS.
I was instantly drawn to this coat because well…its pink! It’s a fit and flare cut style that I always find to be flattering on pretty much any body type. We took it out to dinner one night this week in the Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward and I was pleasantly surprised with how warm it was.
While we were at the Boston Store in the Mayfair mall, we headed over to their dress department and it is huge! I told my husband to go find something to do while I proceeded to try on half the store :). I might have picked out a few too many (I think everything was on sale), but there were two I had to share.
I just love this neckline on this super cute cocktail dress! And well I am obsessed with anything green when December is here. We took it out for dinner and drinks at the Milwaukee Athletic Club and I appreciated how this fitted dress still allowed room to breathe :). After dinner, we took a few shots in The Elephant Room at the M.A.C. It’s this great bar space in the Milwaukee Athletic Club with Elephant murals around the whole space. It has a really cool…almost speakeasy type feel to it and this gorgeous baby grand piano.
Last but not least, who can resist picking up another little black dress?! Well….not me! Pretty much every woman has a couple of these go to looks in their closet, and well this one has made it into mine.
What really attracted me to this one was the choker neckline along with the shadow stripe pattern. I love dresses that have interesting detail to them without being too over the top. It just gives you that feeling of elegance and sophistication.
Thank you to The Bon Ton Store for sponsoring this post. We had so much fun shopping at The Boston Store and we’re relieved now to not have to worry about any more Christmas shopping! How are you guys all doing on yours? Tell me about it in the comments below!
