Postcard Worthy Views in Chicago

September 15, 2017

Chicago will always be one of our favorite cities.  Not only because of its beauty and diversity, but also because it is a place where we’ve made so many great memories. It is the place where I was both engaged and married, enjoyed many nights out on the town, and it is where we found our passion for photography and blogging. So, today I want to share two of my favorite must visit places that are not just Instagram worthy, but also a fun place to bring your family to hang out and enjoy the day!

This hidden gem is Olive Park and is located at 500 N Lake Shore Dr, Chicago, IL 60611.

Every time I visit this place, I find it quite peaceful and less crowded compared to other parks in the city.  You will also find a wide open field area where you can have picnic with your family while enjoying the view of the blue turquoise water of lake Michigan and the spectacular view of the Chicago skyline.

Second on my list is Navy Pier. There is so much to do in this place, every corner is surrounded by restaurants, bars, and of course lots of souvenirs to buy. If this is your first time to visit, riding the Ferris wheel will give you the birds eye view of the city. It is so much fun when you are on the top overlooking the breathtaking beauty of Chicago!

If you get tired with all the walking, this perfect spot just outside the navy pier is a great place to sit and relax. Never a dull moment in Chicago, the movement of this water fountain changes every minute as you sit and unwind. My favorite part is where it ejects this dramatic warm mist, perfect for your facebook worthy post :).

I also forgot to mention that these places are right next to each other so you can enjoy both easily in one afternoon! Hope you get to enjoy your vacation!

I've really never been to Chicago. Had a 6 hour layover there when taking the train from NYC to Milwaukee. I walked a few blocks through the city to a drug store, but that probably wasn't the nicest part of town. Love all your pics. It definitely looks like thee is a lot to see and do in Chicago.

Beautiful photos! I want to visit Chicago one of these days. My husband is from Indiana and has been many times. I'm from the south, and have never been. That has got to change!

Hi Joanna. I agree with you, it has got to change :) There are so many places to see that you need more than a weekend. I hope you can plan it early before winter comes.
