Who doesn’t love purple? I certainly do…the color of magic and royalty, mystery and elegance, what’s not to love?! Today I was on a mission to find that feeling in real life, to have an experience that felt like purple.
This dress from Lulus is one of my absolute faves. It is one of the most versatile pieces in my closet, and can be dressed up or down…my favorite, since I love being able to spend a casual day in something that I don’t necessarily have to change out of for a more formal evening. Also, it is a perfect choice for the bride-to-be to assign to her bridesmaids- finally a bridesmaid dress that can be worn for more than one day! (Not to mention, this is a dress that does not break the bank, unlike those offered in most bridal shops)
Today, wearing this dress, I hopped in the car to explore more of the endless city of Chicago. With my maxi dress flowing down to my ankles I certainly felt like royalty! We spent most of our morning at Millennium Park, specifically my favorite area, the Pritzker Pavilion. Framed by curving plates of stainless steel, I can stand for hours completely mesmerized by the beauty of this contemporary architectural design. Even though the wide, grassy green lawn in front of it was roped off for the morning, being me I still had to get a picture with this beauty! I scooted across the rope and grabbed a photo as quickly as possible before the security guard could stop me. Yes. A little embarrassing! But hey, sometimes rules are made to be broken- especially for a gorgeous pic in a gorgeous dress!
There could not have been a better place to spend the day in this magic dress than the windy city- I felt feminine and chic all day long, the city breeze sending the perfect movement through the fabric. I truly felt like royalty today, twirling around and soaking in the day like no one was watching.I guess what I want to impart after today is, don’t let obstacles get in your way of finding that fun in life. If things are looking dark just add some color!
What is your version of fun today-where did you see colors come alive? I’m listening!

My goal is to inspire others to believe in themselves, to be comfortable with what and who they are, express their own uniqueness, and to motivate people to go out and do things outside of their comfort zone. I would love to connect with you!Read More
